The Obama-chasm will likely continue to grow; BUT, in protest, it will likely drive more American tourist to Israel and will make up for some of the shortfall from the US Government declining financial help.
Obama, in his own mind, may never have been a Muslim; BUT, by Islamic law, he was born a Muslim. Barak Hussein Obama spent many formative years under Islamic influences. President Obama may now be a christian, yet his Islamic instincts, and sympathies, will likely make the chasm with Israel continue to grow. That notwithstanding, ”the chasm” will strengthen the political opposition to Obama in the United States, and Israel will likely get an ever-growing support from the political right!
The Obama-chasm will continue to grow and be problematic to Israel; BUT it will also open opportunities for international rivals of the United States to step into the void and support Israel. Russia, for example, has been taking advantage of the Obama’s Administration inept dealing with international issues, and will likely continue to do so. From getting the US to abandon its European allies (eliminate the Missile Defense Initiative,) to not supporting US efforts against Iran, and most recently, to signing the nuclear nonproliferation agreement (which clearly favors Russia by elevating it to a “super-power” status again,) the Russians are trying to return to the influential role it had prior ro the dismantling of the USSR; stepping in and increasing its supporting role in Israel, may well be in the offing.
Many of those nations who in the past shied from creating close ties with Israel due to its US alliance, are now likely to approach Israel and develop closer relations. It is clear that the Obama-chasm will cause some harm to Israel; BUT, by expending its international relations, the Jewish state is very likely to be a net winner due to the Obama-chasm.
With Barak Hussein Obama at the helm, there is little or no doubt, that the Obama-chasm will continue to grow; BUT, there is also no doubt that Israel will not be destroyed by “the chasm,” if anything, the Obama-chasm will strengthen Israel, increase its circle of influence in the world, and will allow it to fulfill its divine mission from its Capital, Jerusalem.
