But: When it comes to real Islamic challenges, the young American President seems to be timid. Most alarming is his dealing with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and the Ayatollah Khomeini as they are preparing to become a nuclear power, and perhaps destroy the State of Israel. President Barak Hussein Obama, and his Secretary of State Clinton, keep insisting that sanctions and diplomacy can work, they are doing so in spite of clear statements from Ahmadinejad that as long as the United States is [even] friendly with Israel, Iran will not engage in dialogue with it.

The Iranians are serious! Actions by Iran, starting with reverse sanctions against the West will start to have significant effect on the world economy, an unhealthy economy, as it is! Cutting oil to Europe would sooner, or later add to price of Gasoline in the United States, and would get Americans to either to recognize the problem as one directly associated with Islam’s desire for world domination, and insist that the United States take action against Iran, or feel that if the United States forsakes Israel, matters “will return to normal,” a myth, but a potential fall out of US inaction. Would Obama inaction cause the return in the United States of bumper stickers stating: “Less Jews, more oil?” Or, would the United States live-up to it singular “superpower?”

In spite of all Unites States support of Israel, including important supply of bunker-busting bombs, Israel is in no position to take on Iran without help. Israel may win a short-term conflict, but should it be forced to do so, the toll on its economy would be enormous, the fragility of its existence become even more alarming than it is now.

If the Unites States relinquish its role as the super-power and essentially force Israel to do its dirty work with Iran, what credibility would the United States have remaining?

Is Obama reluctant to hold a hard-line with Islamic regimes the result of his formative years among Muslims, or is it because he doe not have the intestinal fortitude to do the job for which he was elected? There not seem to be an answer to these questions, but the results are alarming! The United States must have a chief executive who can stand for its interests regardless what phobias he, or she, may have.

Killing bin Laden was a high point; leaving Iraq was a good move, but a politicall­y motivated action that came much too early, and that will simply push Iraq deeper into Iran’s sphere of influence.

As to Israel: In the area of supplying Israel with military equipment, the Obama Administra­tion did OK, but when it comes to moral support, and friendship­, it has fallen short.  Obama’s desire to be friendly with Islamic nations seem to be contrary to what those countries expect America to do regarding Israel. For example,  Ahmadinejad of Iran simply told the US that as long as its is friendly with Israel, it cannot have diplomatic relations with Iran.

Another part of its misdealing with friends, the Obama Administra­tion weaken Europe’s missile shield to please Russia, and while encouragin­g nations to remove dictators in favor of free government­, is standing on the sidelines as “Syria is Burning,” and Assad is slaughteri­ng civilians.

Failing to curb North Korea’s nuclear and missile developmen­t, pushing Libya, Tunisia, and likely Egypt towards Sharia law, and most alarming, the Obama Administra­tion total mishandlin­g of Iran.

Backing Bachmann’s view, any objective observer can ascertain that short of a miracle, a war with Iran is now inevitable­. If the US is too timid to initiate such war, Israel maybe forced to start the conflict, but make no mistake about it, if an armed conflict begins, the United States would be dragged into it, perhaps shouting and screaming, but the both feet, and with easy way out.

Syria, a country with impressive history, and with advanced culture could have become a small democratic island in the Arab world, should its rebels received support from the West, or rather from some US led coalition, but the United States chose to stand by while Syria is burning…

Up to a point the US stood behind Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt, all primitive nations that will be adopting Sharia law, and turning against the United States and its allies. Syria, the cultural entity in the region, a country that could have become a stepping-stone for democracy in the Middle East, is being neglected by the United States as part of its totally inept foreign policy.

Al-Queda’s chief al-Zawahri is now calling for his people to support the Syrian revolt so that he and his organization can gain influence in the region. Since under Assad Syria was the pipeline between Iran, Hizbollah, and Hamas, a Syria under al-Queda’s influence will strengthen these organizations, and weaken Israel’s defensive position, and the Arab Gulf states.

As things stand, Iran would be pleased to have Assad, on of its more reliable clients, remain in power. But, if the removal of Assad were inevitable, then an Islamic country under Sharia law, and with al-Queda presence, would be a welcomed option.

United States inaction in Syria created an opening for al-Queda, and is serving as another demonstration of a frightfully inept American foreign policy in the region. It may not be too late for the United States Administration to follow Senator McCain’s advice and find means to help the Syrian rebels while gaining some much-needed influence in the region.

Military’s request for funds to ready twenty of its “bunker-busting,” bombs, some for its own supply, some to upgrade those in the hands of the Israelis is an early signal of inevitable action against Iran’s nuclear facilities. Since the critical Iranian facilities are deep underground, the bunker-busters will be a weapon of choice, perhaps accompanied by a number of tactical nukes from both the US and Israeli arsenals.

US and Israeli strategies are likely to include missiles from the Persian Gulf, air from US bases in Gulf States, and likely flight from Israel over Jordanian and Saudi air space. Even if the United States may play a support role because of political issues in an election year, its initial request for $91,000,000.00 for bunker-buster preparation, is but a first step in inclusion of the Congress in action that will likely take place before the 2012 election. The inevitable action is at a stage now that only action by Iran can stop its inevitability, and Iran will have to open up all its facilities, stop its enrichment program, and allow for permanent inspectors in all its facilities.

Since the US left Iraq, and Israel will not have that airspace available as a route to Iran, and as Egypt’s new rulers will not likely let Israel use the Suez, as did Mubarak, the US role in a mission to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities has been expended, including the use of UA resources now in the Gulf.

Count on the 2012 US election to shift emphasis from the economy and social issues, and to energy from the Gulf States, and the inevitable action against Iran.

Libya and Tunisia are tribal countries, backwards and ready to adopt strong Sharia law, and an environment similar to what the Taliban had…

On the other hand, Syria, a country who contributed a great deal to world civilization, is allowed, “to burn” by a ruthless dictator, the son of another dictator. Syria with a significant intelligentsia, and impressive history could become the key to unlocking the door to Middle East peace.

Neither the Chinese, nor the Russians are concerned about civility, or civil rights, in the case of Syria both countries are interested in economic gains. The United States tried to pass a Security Council Resolution to curb Assad, to only be confronted by vetoes from the Russia, and Chinese. Even though the United States is not the world policeman, nor the guardian of freedom, as the only “super power” and a Judeo/Christian country with moral obligation to all people, getting involved in Syria may be inevitable.

Supporting Syria’s move towards freedom and democracy should not be viewed as an option; it should be accepted as an obligation, and take place without much additional delay. Among other things, a democratic Syria is likely to be the foundation of MidEast civility.

Additionally, the fact that this is an election year in the United States; Israel must act itself if any American President could be in a position to take the necessary action against Iran. As supportive as President Obama has been to Israel, and tough words from Secretary Pennetta about Iran’s nukes, Israel cannot be certain that another Obama Administration could deal more effectively with Iran. Adding all the facts that relate to Iran’s looming nuclear threat, Israel may be forced to move in the very near future.

Also, as cynical as this may sound, Israel, and the “free world,” must decide if its future should be left in the hands of the United States with Obama as President, or if it makes sense to wait and hope for a Republican Administration that will very likely more aggressive in dealing with Iran.

With Mubarak out of the way, the Islamic Brotherhood gaining control, and the looming Sharia law in Egypt, using the Suez Canal on the way to the Persian/Arabian Gulf may not be an option still available to Israel. The United States withdrawal from Iraq may complicate the air route that Israel may need to follow to get to Iran, when the time comes.

Since the Saudis and other Gulf states are as fearful of a nuclear Iran as is Israel, Israel already has a tacit approval to use that airspace on the way to Iran, Israel is left with two, rather than the three options they had before Egypt’s ouster of Mubarak. When Mubarak was in power Israel did use the Suez Canal to send a number of submarines to the Gulf, in order to test the options of using missiles, and perhaps in some areas actual the landing of special troops.

Israel’s options presently include air, and covert land activity; it may also use its special troops, if conditions dictate. The facts that options are reduced, and Iran is getting closer, and closer to getting enriched Uranium, Israel’s window of opportunity is narrowing, imminent action against Iran’s nukes is now likely to happen sooner, rather than later.

When reviewing the support of revolts in Libya (the backward tribal country that falls under Sharia law,) Egypt on its way towards becoming an Islamic nation, and other countries than Syria, one must wonder who does the thinking in Washington, and why are they not aiming at the most promising targets, in this case, Syria. Why is Assad allowed to slaughter his people, while other were not allowed to simply manage autocracies?

It is time for the United States and its allies to support the Syrian revolution and help the Syrian intelligentsia create a secular democracy that could be the hub to Middle East stability.

Those countries that the US and its allies freed from autocratic rule that adopted Sharia law, cannot, and will not be friends of the United States and any of its [non-Muslim] allies.  Living by Quran edicts eliminate the possibility of joining the [secular] global community. Unlike the Bible, the Quran insists on a number of behavioral issues (din, or way of life) that are a must if you wish to be a Muslim, no exceptions­. The Quran does not have provisions for leaving the religion, except for death!

The Muslim Brotherhoo­d already explained what it intends to do, not actions that will be favorable to the West.
As to trade with Israel, the US, and the EU gain a great deal from such trade, not even considerin­g that Jewish interests will continue to be supportive in both places. Companies like Google, Microsoft, and other leaders that have a great deal of software developed in Israel. The Defense Department is getting a great deal from its exchange with Israel (Iron Shield, much drone technology­, fire-contr­ol-system, feedback of desert operations­, etc.)

Both the EU, and the US have more to lose than gain if they curtailed trade, and general relations with with Israel. Should Syria become a secular democracy, peace with Israel, and the elimination of support for Iranian support to Hamas and Hizzbollah, would likely follow…

  As an aside: Arab League attempts to settle the situation in Syria cannot work, not only the League the proverbial “toothless tiger,” it could easily be bogged down when trying to resove differences where both competing sides are Muslims!

In face of pronouncements by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Iran will not communicate with the United States as long as the United States has favorable relations with the State of Israel; how can America’s President stoop so low as to request that Iran’s leadership meet with him?

Iran’s conditions that the US severs relations with Israel before it would communicate with the United States are consistent with Iran’s formal statements regarding its desire to and intent to destroy the State of Israel, a position that should actually be viewed as an act of war against an US ally.

Rather than to request, or rather beg for a meeting with Iran’s leadership, America’s President should demand that Iran formally recognize Israel to exist. America’s President, however, stoops down and request to meet with Iran, another demonstration of the inept US foreign policy; when will the US regain its backbone, and start acting like the leader of the free world rather than a toothless-tiger?

When Assad is removed from office, an unfortunate by-product that one can expect is that the minority from where he comes, will be discriminated against, many will likely to flee to Israel, the Golan Heights, in particular. Israel already, at least in principal, agreed to make civilized provisions for dealing with such refugees.

A change of regime in Syria would be very welcomed; it may be a key to solving a large part of the peace issue in the Middle East. Since under Assad who runs an Iranian client state that shields, supports, and nurtures Hizbollah, and Hamas. Should Iran lose its conduit to Hamas and Hizbollah, those two organizations will likely lose their lifeline, which will bring some new level of stability to the region.

Iran’s threat in face of rapid developments which will likely to lead to a nuclear arsenal, Ahmadinejad recent visit to Venezuela, presently, with Hugo Chavez at the helm, an enemy of the United States, is just another red-flag in front a Obama, the American bull!

 Will the United States under the leadership of Barak Hussein Obama, ever rise up to the Iranian challenge, or will an ally, such as Israel, have to deal with the threat?
